Staten Island Technical High School (SITHS) is a public high school in Staten Island, New York that offers a rigorous academic curriculum focused on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Staten Island Technical High School’s mission is to create a learning environment based on the 4C’s–Collaboration, Communication, Creativity, and Critical Thinking. College and Preparation
Staten Island Technical High School students receive college and career readiness programs beginning in ninth grade and continuing throughout their senior year. The school hosts college admissions panels to inform students about the application process. Support from guidance counselors appears to be hit or miss, but the school’s alum representatives across STEM fields offer hands-on coaching to students as they transition to college. The school features a robust internship program that allows students to gain real-world experience in STEM fields and a strong research program that enables students to conduct independent research under the guidance of experienced faculty.
